Hi! I'm Mark Mohammadpour, APR, an accredited senior communications executive, certified health coach, and personal trainer. After being fortunate enough to be engaged to my amazing wife Christine in 2007, I started a journey that led me to lose more than 100 pounds over nine months. I am proud to have kept that off since.
Back in 2007, I weighed more than 350 pounds. A frequent business traveler and public relations professional working 50-60 hour weeks, I was struggling with how to deal with stress and thrive in our industry. Long flights sitting in coach, uncomfortable chairs in restaurants, and general embarrassment with being severely overweight were handled by eating too much and exercise too little.
After trying every method available, I realized that small, incremental, and sustainable changes over time would lead to a mental and physical transformation.
After losing more than 100 pounds in 2008 and keeping it off for more than a decade, I decided to learn more about personal health and exercise.
In 2017, I became an American Council on Exercise (ACE) Certified Personal Trainer, and in 2018 became an ACE Certified Health Coach. I learned a lot about my progress and how I can help others meet their health and wellness goals.
At Edelman and Weber Shandwick, I led campaigns for more than 10 global technology brands and a branch of the United States military. I also served on the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Portland Metro Chapter board from 2014-2017, and as president in 2016.
As a public speaker, I have presented on health and wellness and public relations best practices with thousands of people across the country. I have participated in panels with and/or have given presentations to graduate and undergraduate students from George Fox University, Portland State University, University of Oregon, University of Portland, and Washington State University.
The phrase has personal meaning. It’s my half glass full, positive approach to life and my path to seek sunshine. It’s also a lyric in one of my favorite songs by my favorite band “Oasis.” If you love Britpop and soccer, we’ll get along very well!
I am committed to leading a discussion on ensuring my fellow professionals are set up for success. Meeting the challenges our businesses face will only make our jobs more complex in the future. I want to give professionals the tools to be mentally and physically sharp to grow in their careers!
After spending more than ten years losing and keeping off more than 150 pounds, I became a certified personal trainer and health coach through the American Council on Exercise (ACE).
Yes! I love sharing my story and giving practical tools that will leave an audience with actionable next steps they can take to be mentally and physically prepared to grow in their career.
I want my clients to grow in their careers and thrive through making their health and wellbeing a priority. That includes ways that they can manage their stress and feel empowered to incorporate health and wellness through actionable, achievable techniques.
I want to help the college student who wants to learn about living through the stressful world of communications, marketing, and public relations; the new professional who is preparing to enter the fast-paced business world; the mid-level manager who is learning how to lead people, teams and clients relationships, and; the senior professional who is leading big teams and carrying a lot of responsibility.
The key theme for all these audiences is that they want to excel and grow in their career, all the while living through significant life events. I am here to help set them up for success!
More than anything, I want people to be kind to themselves. Want to chat? Message me! [email protected]
